Dr. Walt Schmidt
Short Bio – (In His Own Words)
I was saved in March of 1969 after coming under the clear preaching of the Gospel at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. I realized without a shadow of a doubt that I was a lost sinner and that Christ was the only Saviour. I completely trusted in His finished work on the Cross as the only basis for my forgiveness. He saved my soul and I immediately followed Him in believers baptism. My wife and children are all saved and baptized.
My wife (Jackie) and I united with the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Denver and began to work in the Church in whatever capacity they wanted to use us. Soon after I was asked to preach in a rescue mission, and at first I declined. However the Spirit of the Living God began to work in me that I should preach. I began a few weeks later and the Lord led from there. It was not long before I realized that God wanted me to preach, and He then led us to Tennessee Temple and on to the other ministries that He has given us.
I have no doubt as to my salvation or my call to the Gospel ministry. It is my plan to serve the Lord until He calls me home. My life verse is Psalm 126:5,6.
